Peter H. Enns was born in 1885. He farmed in Ste. Elizabeth, Manitoba. He was involved in the leadership of the Lichtenau Mennonite Church from 1930 to 1942, serving as Aeltester, or bishop. His brother, Joahnn H. Enns, was also an Aeltester, but left St. Elizabeth in 1932 to serve at First Mennonite Church in Winnipeg. Peter died on May 7, 1942.
Scope and content note
This fonds consists of Peter H. Enns' personal papers concerning both his church work and his personal life. The latter includes correspondence with his brother and his memoirs. Most of the material is handwritten in Gothic script, with some typewritten material.
